How can I find out if a realestate license is valid?

I want to make sure someone is legit that will help me reduce the
loan on my home

Go to the site of the division or Real Estate in your state. You can Google the key words division or Real Estate and add your state.
Look on their site they have a downloadable page with people who have an active license, if you can’t find it call them and ask them.
As a side note, most RE agents can’t reduce the rates on your home. You can call your lender and negotiate your self or there are organizations that do it for you with an upfront fee and something on the back end. Email me with your situation and I’ll give you some contacts.

Go to your state’s website and find the professional license area. Search real estate salesperson licenses. You should be able to look up the license and they will provide you status including when it will expire and what Broker holds the license.
