Talk to some successful real estate agents in your area, see what they suggest.

Look for the one with the best advertising. It is impossible to start in this business if nobody knows who you are.

I would talk to places to find out about what they have to offer. Find out what kind of properties they work with or what their clients are like. Find out if they provide any leads, and it is very important to find out what their splits are. You might also want to know what other services the office will provide for you.

How about picking one that will offer you a job?

Seriously – I would pick one that services customers in a town or neighborhood that I am familiar with. Familiarity will make you a better salesman…

what’s the future hold? what’s the market in you area look like now and where is it going? new houses out in the exurbs are turning out to be too expensive and impractical for people. some people are migrating back to small towns and cities.
